After buying the original small shop in 2021, the building was completely transformed, extended and rebuilt before reopening in October 2025. Since then, AJ’s Takeaway has already won awards and continues to grow, with fish and chips at its heart but much bigger plans ahead. I get a proper look behind the counter at the spotless work areas, the chip preparation, homemade fishcakes, modern frying range and oil filtration systems. We also take a look at the handmade wood-fired pizza oven, with pizzas, kebabs, burgers, street food, and breakfasts all part of the future plans.
