The Real Scandal: Jesus Revealed Himself as God

Jesus was a Jewish rabbi speaking alone with a Samaritan woman at a well. That should shock us more than it does. He crossed ethnic boundaries. He crossed religious boundaries. He crossed gender boundaries. And His own disciples were surprised for a reason. But let’s be clear: Jesus exposes sin. Jesus offers living water. Jesus reveals Himself as Messiah. Jesus dignifies a sinful outsider by bringing her into the truth. The real scandal is grace — holy, truthful, sin-exposing, soul-saving grace. The woman at the well was not treated as a prop, a threat, or an object. Jesus treated her as a real moral person before God. He confronted her sin without degrading her, and He offered Himself to her as the only water that truly satisfies. That is the glory of Christ. He does not excuse sin. He does not flatter sinners. He does not follow social taboos for their own sake. He brings outsiders into the truth. Jesus was not lowering holiness. He was bringing holiness to the unclean. #John4 #WomanAtTheWell #Jesus #SamaritanWoman #BibleStudy #Christianity #ReformedTheology #Gospel #LivingWater #JesusIsMessiah
