I Restored an Abandoned 100yr Old Pocket Pistol

After decades of neglect, this Bayard 1908 pocket pistol arrived heavily rusted, worn, and incomplete. Much of the original finish is gone, the grips are damaged, and one of the biggest problems is the missing recoil and buffer system, which is a unique and uncommon design that makes finding replacement parts nearly impossible today. In this video, I attempt to bring this forgotten Bayard 1908 back to life using restoration, fabrication, and a lot of trial and error. The goal wasn’t necessarily to create a perfect museum piece, but to see whether this tiny WW1-era pistol could function again after all these years. And while the final result may not be 100% perfect… it does manage to fire again after being left to rust. Thanks for watching!
