Fallece la niña de cuatro meses herida en el incendio de una vivienda en Jaén

Jaén, May 29 (EFE). (Images: Juan García Chicano).- The four-month-old girl injured in yesterday's fire at a home in Puente Tablas (Jaén), in which four other family members died, has died, health sources confirmed to EFE. The girl was injured yesterday in the fire and is in very serious condition and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Jaén Maternal and Child Hospital. Since her admission yesterday afternoon, no information on the girl's condition has been released, at the request of the family. The baby was a direct relative of the four deceased: the sister of the five-year-old boy, the daughter of the 36-year-old man, and the granddaughter of the 78-year-old woman and the 68-year-old man, all of whom died yesterday in the fire. Outpourings of grief have continued outside the Ciudad de Jaén funeral home, where family and friends of the deceased gathered throughout the morning. They are being treated by psychologists and a mobile intensive care unit that arrived shortly after 2:30 p.m. The deceased belong to a family from the central La Magdalena neighborhood of Jaén. Officers from the Fire Investigation Service of the Organic Unit of the Judicial Police of the Civil Guard, along with a relative of the deceased, have been inside the burned-out house since early morning, reviewing all evidence of what happened. The fire started around 4:00 p.m. in a two-story house on Camino del Realejo, in Puente Tablas, a residential area about five kilometers from Jaén. According to initial indications, an explosion occurred when they tried to light the living room fireplace with gasoline, while seven people were inside the house. Two local police officers also had to be treated yesterday for smoke inhalation after entering the home shortly after the incident and removing the deceased five-year-old boy and the baby, whom they then managed to revive.
