6 Colour Limited Travel Palette ☆ Swatching, colour mixing, pigment properties

As requested in this video we'll be doing a some swatching and colour mixing of one of my watercolour palettes, the six colour limited travel palette in the portable painter micro. Limited palettes are really interesting to work with, both for ease of transportation but also to really push your understanding of colour mixing. With this palette I wanted to focus on a selection of colours that provide a useful range of mixing for the subject matter I enjoy, and also to be transparent and non-granulating. Pigment properties that are useful for line and wash illustrations, and illustrating/painting a variety of subjects. Don't get me wrong, I love a good granulating colour! Ultramarine and a burnt sienna/ultramarine combo both have solid places in my heart and on my other palettes! Its just not a property I wanted with this selection - plus it allowed me to explore mixing without ultramarine available to me.
