Darley Moor July 2026 - Sunday Stock Scooters 2

2026 BSSO Championship Round 4 - Darley Moor 18th/19th July Sunday stocks 2, the fourth and final scooter race of the day and the very last race of the weekend's event card. Feeling a bit more at home on the Vespa with mental pressure off and a personal target set to try and get around the next in front from the previous stock race, this was probably the first time I've gone out to actually race and not just make it to the chequered flag. With some newfound bravery on my starts I managed to get in front of a couple more people before the first chicane, reached my goal right off the bat and not sure what else to do from there, pinned it and screamed into my helmet the whole way around! PK-Chu hit a new peak of 84 mph on the GPS (1st lap back straight) and with the 3rd gear popping out getting progressively worse it held together to the very end and came home a hero. Special mentions to #22 Joe Palmer and #88 Paul Hughes who feature heavily in the video, making me push my limits further than ever and giving me one hell of a race to finish the weekend on. I took over 2 seconds off my best time from the previous Supers race and got an official time of 1:26.27 (avg 62.6 mph), down from my initial qualifying time of the weekend of 1:34.2. It definitely feels like I've redeemed myself from the awful time at the last event and now I'm capable of starting to actually race, coincidentally as I'm shedding the orange vest. I've set myself a new benchmark and keen to see if I can keep it up in the next round at Anglesey, 15th/16th August 2026.
