BSSO 2026 Round 1 - Lydden Hill, Saturday Supers 2

Opening round of the BSSO 2026 season, Lydden Hill 18th/19th April. Starting the year with a new look for PK-Chu. Stripped down and repainted in Hornet Racing team colours, courtesy of Dave Bristow at Hornet Scooters. The first time on track this year was the 8 hour endurance race at Whilton Mill in March, no cameras were allowed in that event but I started out slow and improved massively over the total 2.5 hours of the race that I covered. Bit disappointed with my following performance at Lydden knowing full well I can go faster when I find the confidence. Loss of familiarity with how recklessly I can strangle the brake lever and being plagued with persistent speed wobble issues dampened my bravery this time around, but I have to remind myself I'm still wearing the novice hi-viz and my total time riding a scooter is still only 8-9 hours being generous. Not uploading all 8 races of this round as there's no big highlights. But I did enjoy the super class races with the beefier bikes offering encouragement to try keeping up until the next corner. I struggled all weekend to break the sub-minute lap, but I did manage to beat my 59.6 previous best from October and deliver a 58.2 on the 9th lap of this race. Next up - East Fortune Circuit, Scotland on 16th/17th May 2026 with a very wet forecast. No on-board footage allowed but I'll try to capture some paddock life there if the rain isn't too miserable!
