Tune in to our channel every Thursday at 8:00 PM for "Der Alte" (The Old Fox): The crime series initially follows Erwin Köster (Siegfried Lowitz), the sometimes grumpy but extremely astute head of the Munich homicide squad, as he investigates. With dry humor and consistently surprising powers of deduction, Köster, known to his colleagues simply as "the Old Fox," solves his cases. He is assisted by his colleagues Gerd Heymann (Michael Ande) and Martin Brenner (Jan Hendriks). After Köster dies in episode 100 in 1986 from a gunshot wound to the abdomen, Chief Inspector Leo Kress (Rolf Schimpf) succeeds him. Unlike the solitary Köster, Kress is more of a team player, but he pursues his cases with equal tenacity and thoroughly grills potential perpetrators.
