The Italian owner of a Munich beer hall was shot dead in his establishment at midnight. Ludwig Meyer, one of his waiters, tells Derrick that the Mafia had been after him. Presumably, the innkeeper had to die because he was no longer willing to make further payments to his blackmailers. Meyer recognizes a man in police photos who was in the beer garden at noon before the murder. But it is only with the discovery of the second bullet that a promising lead to the perpetrator emerges.
