הענן במשכן - The cloud in the tabernacle

[Verse 1] וַיִּכַּס הֶעָנָן אֶת הָאֹהֶל כְּמוֹ סוֹד עָטוּף עַל לֵב עָיֵף מֹשֶׁה עוֹמֵד מִבַּחוּץ שׁוֹתֵק רוֹאֶה אֶת הָאוֹר מֵאַחַר הַוִּילּוֹן [Pre-Chorus] כָּל הַדֶּרֶךְ בַּחוֹל הִשְׁאִירָה סְדָקִים כָּל צְעָדֵינוּ מְחַפְּשִׂים רֶמֶז קָטָן כְּשֶׁהֶעָנָן יוֹרֵד לָאָרֶץ הַלֵּב נוֹשֵׁם לְרֶגַע לְרֶגַע [Choir] כְּשֶׁהֶעָנָן שׁוֹכֵן עַל הַמִּשְׁכָּן אַתָּה קָרוֹב אֵלֵינוּ מִמָּה שֶׁחָשַׁבְנוּ כְּבוֹדךָ מְמַלֵּא כָּל פִּנָּה בַּמָּסָע עַד שֶׁאַתָּה אוֹמֵר "לָקוּם" – אֲנַחְנוּ נוֹשְׁאִים עֵינַיִם לָעָנָן לָאֵשׁ בַלַּיְלָה [Verse 2] כִּי כַאֲשֶׁר יֵעָלֶה הֶעָנָן מֵעַל הַשְּׁכִינָה שׁוּב אֲנַחְנוּ אוֹרְזִים שְׁאֵלוֹת בַּתִּיק לִשְׁבָט אֶחָד לְמַחֲנֶה אַחֵר אוֹתָהּ דֶּרֶךְ אוֹתוֹ אוֹר מוֹרֶה לָנוּ [Choir] כְּשֶׁהֶעָנָן שׁוֹכֵן עַל הַמִּשְׁכָּן אַתָּה קָרוֹב אֵלֵינוּ מִמָּה שֶׁחָשַׁבְנוּ כְּבוֹדךָ מְמַלֵּא כָּל פִּנָּה בַּמָּסָע עַד שֶׁאַתָּה אוֹמֵר "לָקוּם" – אֲנַחְנוּ נוֹשְׁאִים עֵינַיִם לָעָנָן לָאֵשׁ בַלַּיְלָה [Bridge] לְעֵינֵי כָּל בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל אַתָּה מוֹלִיךְ אוֹתָנוּ בְּכָל מַסְעֵינוּ בַּיּוֹם עָנָן דָּק בַלַּיְלָה אוּר בּוֹעֵר וַאֲנַחְנוּ לוֹמְדִים לְהַקְשִׁיב _________ [Verse 1] And the cloud covered the tabernacle Like a shroud that wraps a weary heart Moses stood outside, silent Seeing the light behind the curtain [Pre-Chorus] All the way in the remaining valley is cracked All our steps seek a small sign When the cloud descends to earth The heart breathes to rest To rest [Chorus] When the cloud rests over the Tabernacle You are closer to us than we are We think Your glory fills every corner of the path Until You say, “Arise,” we will encamp with our eyes fixed On the cloud On the fire of the night [Verse 2] For when the cloud rises over the Tabernacle We will lean on it, keeping our questions in a bag For one tribe For another encampment And the path And the light of a teacher For us [Chorus] When the cloud hangs over the tabernacle You are closer to us than we thought Your glory fills every corner of the path Until You say, “Arise,” we lift our eyes To the cloud To the fire of the night [Bridge] In the sight of all the house of Israel You guide us in all our ways By day, a faint cloud By night, a blazing flame And we will learn to listen
