C.Crane response in regards to the popping sound "I checked with our Sr. Customer Service Operator and he said this is normal for this radio. There is nothing to worry about here he said." * Features I like about this radio: FM Reception...wow. This is very good. AM Reception...wow, we are going to do some future scans..after filming I found a new station :) Will share in my band scan video to follow. FM Stereo sounds really good on the headphones..lots of bass. Bass and Treble controls...all radios of this size should have this. Dial Light...amazing. Flush fitting handle. Gun Metal Color...this looks really good. Speaker audio quality is great. 36" antenna for FM. 200mm internal antenna for AM. Dial accuracy is improved over the old model. Linear power supply included. No noise on the AM band when using it. External Antenna jacks. Features that could be added or improved on: Have a switch to disable "Mute on Tuning". Eliminate popping sound when turning it on..minor quibble. This is a good one...add a second speaker on right side...oh yeah. Overall, in the video I did not give a recommendation yet. Using this radio a few hours more after filming I found a new station ID buried between two powerful stations...wow.
