He has worked in cultural journalism for almost 40 years. He has written nine books, including biographies of Zé do Caixão, Sepultura, João Gordo, Marcelo Nova, and Nelson Ned. He directed or wrote screenplays for films and series such as “Sullivan and Massadas: Portraits and Songs”, “The King of TV”, “Hit Parade”, “Popular News”, “Secret History of Brazilian Pop” and “Zé do Caixão”. He won the Jabuti Trophy, the most prestigious award in Brazilian literature, in 1992, for the book “Barulho”. He also won the Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival (USA) for the documentary “Maldito”, about Zé do Caixão.
