Furthermore, we did not use any footage during Nippon Television's broadcast time. The Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Team works hard every day in their quest to compete in the Hakone Ekiden. Editor's Note: How did you feel about the Hakone Ekiden qualifying round, where they came in first? The Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Team practiced hard leading up to the qualifying round and became a great team. We were all surprised when the results were announced, but the hard work they put in has paid off, giving the team confidence! With a "we'll do it again next time" mentality, everyone resumed practice the next day and is now working toward their next goal. Our editorial staff (2 people) have been following the team closely for about six months now. We were very happy to hear from so many people at the qualifying round. Thank you. About the Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Club Current coach Yuji Kawasaki founded the Chuo Gakuin University Ekiden Club from scratch. Their training base is in Abiko City, Chiba Prefecture. The team is known for their flawless, error-free, and tenacious team-wide ekiden. While the team runs fewer distances during practice than other schools, they emphasize proper form and strengthen basic physical strength through strengthening exercises, improving the players' abilities through various efforts. They practice hard every day to achieve the team's goal in the university ekiden.
