Ukrainian Immigration to Alberta
This video profiles the remarkable story of the Ukrainians who immigrated to Alberta in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Drawn by the promise of free farmland and a better life, they braved unfamiliar terrain and harsh winters to build farms and communities and establish the largest Ukrainian bloc settlement in Canada. Today their story is preserved at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village and their legacy remains a proud part of Alberta’s identity. Link: https://ukrainianvillage.ca/
