Ada Rovatti & WDR BIG BAND - Stunt Man

The WDR BIG BAND performs "Stunt Man" together with Ada Rovatti (soprano saxophone). The composition is by Ada Rovatti, the arrangement by chief conductor Bob Mintzer, who also leads the WDR BIG BAND. Other solos are played by Andy Haderer on trumpet and Billy Test on piano. Recorded live as part of the concert "THE FOUR TENORS" at the Kölner Philharmonie on June 3, 2021. The fact that Bob Mintzer was appointed principal conductor of the WDR BIG BAND in the summer of 2016 is a blessing for the band in two respects. For the American is not only one of the most distinguished arrangers of orchestral jazz, he is also an extremely talented improviser on the tenor saxophone. Together with Paul Heller, the longtime tenor saxophonist of the WDR BIG BAND, he forms the basis of the saxophone summit "The Four Tenors". This quartet of soloists is completed by the Italian Ada Rovatti and the American Bob Malach, two other renowned representatives of this field.
