Reference Text: Romans 12:1-16 We cannot experience all that the Lord has for us outside of the family of Christ. To be a member is to be transformed, to be the body and family of God. God justified us through faith in Jesus, forgave our sins through the perfect and definitive sacrifice on the cross of Calvary, adopted us, gave us the Holy Spirit, and gathered a people for himself. Transformed! Our bodies should be offered to God because of a living faith, including everything we have materially. By surrendering everything to the Lord, we find the way to offer our rational worship. The world teaches us to be selfish, but Christ calls us to be nonconformists, which implies being transformed. Body! A transformed mind makes us think honestly about ourselves. We know we have something to contribute, but we also understand that others can contribute a great deal to us. We are codependent. The body should be united, with members dependent on one another and useful in their function. When we live the reality of grace, we manifest in community what we have freely received through gifts. Not exercising what we have been called to do in the midst of God's people is sin. Family of God! To be family is to manifest God's love. _______________________________ WELCOME!
