The Battle of Queenston Heights ~ Sung By Alan Mills ~ A Thanksgiving Day Special

In memory of Sir Isaac Brock who was killed on October 13, 1812 at the Battle of Queenston Heights in the War of 1812. Brock is regarded by some as the “Saviour of Canada” for the great victory he won on that day, whose heroism had continued to inspire generations young Canadian “volunteers.” Thanksgiving Day, 2025 happens to fall on the 213th Anniversary of his death, and Canadians will give thanks. “Thank God, our country lives! Our Nation cannot die! She takes what each live gives, And thanks her God most high. From death she reaps true live, Each patriot life is power, It yields in peace or strife, A country’s richest dower.” ~Thomas E. Moberly, 1891 A Canadian Thanksgiving Prayer given at Kingston, Ontario in 1814: ALMIGHTY God, who rulest all things in Heaven and Earth, by whose power and unsearchable wisdom the prosperity and adversity of nations work alike for the general good of man, we humble ourselves before Thee, in praise and Thanksgiving: We acknowledge Thy Providence, and adore Thy Mercies. When the wicked prevail, the heart of the righteous man fainteth within him; but Thy purpose is sure and Thy will is done. At Thy appointed time Thou hast driven back with shame and confusion the invader of many nations, the disturber of mankind.
