PUERTO IZTAPA HOTEL FANTASMA, DE ATRACCION A DESTRUCCION

LIKIN RESORT, PUERTO IZTAPA, GUATEMALA On this occasion, we visited this resort located in Puerto Iztapa. It was one of the main attractions in the 1970s and 1980s. To enter, visitors had to cross by ferry, which added a special charm to the trip. Its facilities included swimming pools, rest areas, trails, and chalets, making it a popular destination for Holy Week and weekends. Abandonment and Current State Rising sea levels and ocean currents severely damaged the structures, rendering the place uninhabitable and forcing its abandonment. Ghost Site: Today, the ruins of the complex are known as a mysterious place that attracts curious onlookers and photographers. The ruins are located on a private beach area and can be reached by boat through the canal. On this visit, a local boatman charged us Q200, which is about $25 USD. The experience was amazing!
