NOT ONLY IN DIENG, FROSTING IS ALSO STARTING TO APPEAR ON BROMO Frosting dew, or frost, isn't limited to the Dieng Plateau. The cold air of this dry season has also given rise to frosting in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. This thin layer of ice has begun to cover the grass and sea of sand in the Mount Bromo tourist area, creating an atmosphere resembling a blanket of snow. According to Septi Eka Wardhani, the Head of the TNBTS Center, the east monsoon winds blowing from Australia have lowered the temperature on Bromo to 5–9 degrees Celsius. These extreme cold conditions create ice crystals that are only visible in the early morning, before the sun's rays begin to warm the surface. This phenomenon isn't limited to the Bromo area. Frosting dew has also been found at other tourist locations such as Ranupane and Ranu Regulo. However, Bromo remains a center of attention, as the sight of frost on the savanna and sea of sand creates a captivating visual attraction for tourists. Although the frost presents a beautiful sight, tourists are still advised to bring warm clothing such as a thick jacket, head covering, and gloves. Food and medicine should also be prepared as a precaution.
