Images taken by residents show the impressive moment when the structure is carried away by the current, highlighting the intensity of the flood caused by the rains that have been affecting the region for several days. The accumulated volume of precipitation in the headwaters of the river and throughout the basin caused the level to rise very quickly and worryingly, exceeding historical records and leaving the RS-431 bridge completely submerged and closed since dawn. The structure that provides access between the two municipalities is no longer visible under the water, and traffic has been completely blocked, with no return date expected until the level drops and a safety inspection is carried out. The official recommendation is for drivers to use BR-470 as an alternative route, passing through Veranópolis. The ground is already completely saturated throughout the region, and the Antas River continues to receive runoff from higher areas, maintaining its upward trend in the coming hours. This situation is part of a larger scenario that also affects other basins in the state, with the Taquari and Caí rivers already above flood levels and a red alert in effect in several locations. Authorities continue to monitor all risk points and ask the population to stay away from riverbanks, strictly respect all road closures and blockades, and only follow official announcements from Civil Defense and municipalities.
