삼나무 vs 전나무 : 무엇이 서로 다를까?
0047 Cedar (Cryptomeria japonica) #Lagodaceae 0005 #Fir (Abies holophylla) #Pinaceae {The difference between Cedar and Fir!} This is where author #Park Seung-cheol personally studies the "tree encyclopedia" in a book titled "Recognizing Our Trees at a Glance." ***************************** Cedar (杉木) Cedars grow in a conical shape with a straight, upward trunk, and reach heights of 40-50 meters. The bark is red and peels off in thin, vertical stripes. Cedar trees are native to the warm and humid southern regions of Japan. Cedar trees dislike cold and dryness, making it nearly impossible to grow in the central region of Korea, including Seoul, due to their difficulty overwintering. Cedar trees were imported from Japan to Korea in 1924, primarily planted for afforestation in coastal areas of South Gyeongsang Province and South Jeolla Province, and islands like Jeju Island. In particular, on Jeju Island, cedar trees are planted in rows to form windbreaks that block the strong winds blowing in from the sea. The flowers bloom in March, and cedar trees are known to cause pollen allergies. The amount of pollen released by male cedar flowers is so high that it is said to be almost an environmental disaster. In Japan, when cedar pollen allergies begin to spread, nasal congestion is a given, and the eyes, nose, mouth (near the roof and throat), and ears feel like crazy, sneezing frequently, and a runny nose is a common occurrence. The leaves are triangular to quadrangular, 1.2 to 2.5 cm long, and have sharply pointed tips. In Japan, cedar wood is of high quality, and is used for construction, civil engineering, shipbuilding, and furniture. Because cedar emits a unique, subtle forest scent, it is also used to make bathtubs. ***************************** Fir Fir is a native species found in Korea. Fir trees are distributed not only in Korea, but also in northern and northeastern China, and from eastern Russia to eastern Europe. Fir trees are distributed from 100 to 1,400 meters above sea level, but they are originally cold-climate plants. Fir leaves are relatively long, measuring 2 to 4 centimeters in length, and the tips of the leaves (the peduncles) are sharp, hard, and pointed, resulting in a characteristically sharp prickle. The pore lines (stomata) on the undersides of fir leaves are yellow-green, making them somewhat blurred. The female flower spikes of fir trees are light green. The cones (cones) of fir trees are relatively large, measuring 6 to 12 centimeters in length. Fir trees grow to be #30-40 meters tall, and their straight, upright trunks and branches that spread like the ribs of an umbrella create a magnificent and beautiful appearance. Therefore, they were planted in front of palaces, temples, and noble residences in the past, providing shade and shade from the sun. In the West, they are popular as Christmas trees. Fir trees are highly versatile, with their tall, straight trunks. Although fir wood is somewhat soft, its use in applications requiring strength is limited. It is easy to process, produces straight, long trunks, and has a beautiful grain. It is said that since ancient times, no other tree has been able to match the fir tree as the material for pillars in #large structures, including palaces and temples. Young fir branches and leaves are sometimes used as bath ingredients. Bathing with fir leaves and young stems boiled in water is said to be very effective in treating rheumatic arthritis and colds. #windbreak #allergy #wintering #bark #bark #forestry #wind #pollen #wood #material #fragrance #bathtub #staple #pinus #cone #scale #scales #cross section #resin bulb #pore lines #stomata #tall tree #tree #main stem #main trunk #seed #wing #pinnate #pinnate #endemic plant #resin bulb #pine cone fragment #real piece #evergreen #evergreen #tall tree #tree #landscape #tree shape #tree shape #scientific name ********************************************* ▶Subscribe to the YouTube Tree Guide for free https://bit.ly/3hXthcy *********************************************
