She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish from Cairo University and studied Japanese language and literature at the Japan Foundation. She has worked for numerous media outlets in Egypt and the Arab world. She won the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2014 for her novel "Days with the Scent of Your Perfume" and the Rashid Bin Hamad Al Sharqi Award for Creativity in 2019 for her novel "The Novel of Silence." She also won the 2018 Arab Short Story Writing Competition Award for her story "The Foot of Goodness," and the 2019 "One Day" Award, organized by Mada Masr and the French Cultural Center in Cairo, for her story "Settled at a Possible Level of Boredom." In poetry, she received the Salah Ali Gad Award for Prose Poetry in 2019 for her poem "A Woman Enjoying Life." In journalism, she won the "Best Newspaper Article of 2017" award from the Ida'at website.
