She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish Language from Cairo University and has also studied Japanese Language and Literature at the Japan Foundation. She has worked for numerous media outlets in Egypt and the Arab world. She won the Sharjah Award for Arab Creativity in 2014 for her novel Days with the Scent of Your Perfume*, and the Rashid bin Hamad Al Sharqi Award for Creativity in 2019 for her novel *The Novel of Silence*. She also received the Arab Short Story Writing Competition Award in 2018 for her story *The Foot of Goodness*, and the "One Day" Award, organized by Mada Masr and the French Cultural Center in Cairo, for her story *Settled at a Possible Level of Boredom in 2019. In poetry, she won the Salah Ali Gad Award for Prose Poetry in 2019 for her poem *A Woman Enjoying Life*, and in journalism, she won the Best Newspaper Article Award for 2017 from the Ida'at website.
