When to Use Spurs When Riding Your Horse
In our training program, we introduce spurs to a horse after we've got a a good gas pedal and brake established, meaning the horse moves forward off gentle pressure from our legs, and we can steer the horse. At that point in a horse's training, you can start working on suppling exercises and that's when it is OK to start using spurs. Spurs should be used to move the horse’s five body parts and to soften and supple his body. They should not be used to get a horse to speed up or to make up for shortcomings in a horse’s training. Limited-time special offer: Now through Wednesday, March 26th, save 10% on all performance spurs ➡️ https://shop.downunderhorsemanship.co...
