Odkopaliśmy zapasy po 5 latach - Czy przetrwały?

It was supposed to be a simple trip to the woods, but it ended with opening a cache that had been buried underground for five years. Inside were canned goods, supplies, and a very concrete lesson about why prepping isn't just about buying food and putting it away for later. Because you have to know how to make supplies. You have to secure them, monitor them, and replace them periodically before a good reserve becomes a problem. Today we're showing you what our forest cache looked like after five years. Some of the cans still looked good, but some had rust, especially around the lid and seams. And these are the most important places, because if a can starts to leak, air, moisture, and bacteria can get inside, and then there's no room for sentimentality. You don't risk such food. In the world of survival and prepping, this is most often referred to as a survival cache, supply cache, or bug-out cache. This is a pre-prepared supply of items needed in an emergency, hidden outside the home or placed along the evacuation route. These could be food supplies, water, a filter, a first aid kit, a fire pit, tools, clothing, or other items that can lighten your backpack and help you survive the next few days. Why do we make these caches? - To have peace of mind, because if you keep all your supplies in just one place, you're dependent on one point. Your home could be cut off. You might have to evacuate. Someone could rob you. Something you couldn't foresee could happen, and when you have several emergency points prepared, you gain something very important: Above all, mental peace. You know that even if one plan fails, you have another. You know you can have provisions hidden on the way to the evacuation point. You know you don't have to carry everything on your back. You know you're not completely defenseless, and that's why we're showing you this video, showing you, among other things: 06:15 - What canned food looked like after 5 years in a barrel. 00:32 - Why rust on the lid is a warning sign. 00:58 - Why replace supplies with fresher ones? 02:59 - How to protect cans with linseed oil. 04:09 - Why a barrel should be well sealed. 08:10 - Why burial depth matters. 08:20 - How to mark a location so you can find it later. 01:34 - Why it's worth making several caches, not just one. A very important point: such actions must be undertaken sensibly and legally. The safest way to plan caches is on your own property or with the owner's consent. The forest is not a garbage dump, and leaving waste or burying items in the forest can be considered environmental pollution. The State Forests reminds residents that littering the forest is an offense, and burying or storing waste in the forest may result in a fine. That's why it's important that our "survival stash" doesn't leave behind trash in the forest. Today, we're showing you a glimpse of how we protect ourselves in the event of a crisis. These are the things the late Adolf Kudliński taught us. The same spirit is evident in this film: preparation, calm, independence, and forward thinking. We leave that same spirit with you now. 🫶 📚 If you're interested in prepping, survival, supplies, emergency stashes, evacuation, safety, and practical ways to cope in difficult times, the Preppers' Bible was created precisely for this purpose.
