73 FISHERMEN'S ASSOCIATIONS FROM THREE DISTRICTS OF CABO DELGADO BENEFIT FROM FISH PRESERVATION AND TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT A total of 73 fishermen's associations from the districts of Metuge, Mecufi, and Pemba recently benefited from fish preservation and transport equipment, within the framework of the More Sustainable Fish Program, a government initiative implemented through the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries and financed by the ProAzul Economic Development Fund, with the objective of contributing to the improvement of fishermen's income and strengthening fishing activity, especially in the province of Cabo Delgado. According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Blue Economy Development Fund, Oswaldo Petersburgo, the beneficiaries contributed 20 percent of the cost of acquiring the equipment, while the Government contributed the remaining 80 percent, in a total investment exceeding 40 million meticais. On the other hand, it should be emphasized that the program will continue to expand its reach, allowing more communities, women, young people, associations, and businesses to benefit from this support. The beneficiaries interviewed expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating that the received material could contribute to strengthening their activities and increasing the revenue of their respective associations.
