In this first part of our campervan tour through the Ore Mountains, Maxi and I take you on a journey filled with nature, history, and true "find the silence" moments. We start on the edge of the Ore Mountains in the Vogtland region, discovering secluded forests, waterfalls steeped in a long history of log rafting, and tranquil reservoirs. We continue along winding roads up to the Fichtelberg, Saxony's highest peak – including a ride on the legendary Fichtelberg Railway. In Johanngeorgenstadt, we hike along the ridge trail into the Steinbach Valley, stand in awe before the imposing Devil's Stones, and enjoy the sound of rushing water between moss-covered rocks. Schwarzenberg surprises us with a skyline straight out of a fairy tale – the castle and church tower above the old town. In Zwönitz, we experience a sense of abandoned places at an old bridge. And finally, the Wolkenstein Switzerland region completely captivates us with its spectacular rock formations and the narrow Wolf's Gorge.
