Three years after the October 7 massacre, data from the Tekuma region tells a story of return, growth and renewal: more than 90% of residents in 43 of the 47 localities have already returned to their homes, more students are studying in schools than on the eve of the disaster, and Sderot alone has absorbed about 5,000 new residents. Aviad Friedman, head of the Tekuma and Tnufa Directorate, talks to Nadav Perry about the rehabilitation and development process that the directorate is leading together with the communities and local authorities, the need to restore trust after October 7, and the work aimed at ensuring that the return home will be to a better, stronger and more developed place than it was before.
