Broadcast date: 26 February 1985, Spain. TVE - Tocata (music television show). Episode 66. Hosted by Jose Antonio Abellán and Silvia Abrisqueta. Performed in a duet with Mandy Newton. Tocata was a musical program broadcast by Televisión Española between 1983 and 1987, with 4 series and 169 episodes. At first, Tocata was going to be programmed on Saturday afternoon (like its predecessor) but as it would finally be located on Tuesday afternoon (later going on to be broadcast on Wednesdays). Configured as a space dedicated to modern music, which included live performances, video clips and interviews on set. Tocata was designed specifically for a very clear segment: young people between 15 and 25 years old. For this reason unlike its predecessor- Aplauso, the space did not host performances of children's groups or humorous numbers and the melodic song was relegated to the background, also following the new tastes of the public in the eighties. The name of program comes from music term "Toccata" - a musical composition for a keyboard instrument designed to exhibit the performer's touch and technique. Limahl appeared in Tocata 3 times: in 1984, 1985 and 1986 (all on my playlists). Comments: 1. This recording comes from VHS rip.
