BRET CONTRERAS EXPOSED

You might know of Bret Contreras as the 'glute guy’. He has a PhD in sports science, and his claim to fame is that he helps women attain more muscular glutes. To that end, he popularized a glutes exercise called the barbell hip thrust. His glute growth hacks have earned him a considerable social media following, with his follower count nearing 1 million on Instagram as of the making of this video, far outstripping other evidence-based fitness authorities. However recently, some ugly things about Bret have surfaced, which I discuss in this video. In the first part of this video I question Bret's integrity as an evidence-based fitness authority, discussing the barbell hip thrust’s effectiveness, Bret’s PhD research, and some miscellaneous sexist claims that Bret has made. In the second part of this video I discuss some recent allegations that have been made against Bret. Included are how he allegedly treats homeless people, an intimate partner, trainees, colleagues and peers.
