Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra - Heroes & Superheroes AUDIO ONLY (21/Mar/25)

"Heroes both historical and fictitious as well as superheroes of the Marvel and DC comics are a fertile mine of inspiration for Hollywood and some of the best big screen adventures ever." - Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra To be honest the only reason I wanted to go to this concert was that they listed Angels & Demons as one of the pieces the orchestra will be performing. Granted it wasn't "160 BPM" but hearing the main theme of the Robert Lagdon trilogy live is always a treat! Kinda wish they added more superheroes into their setlist, or at the very least swap a couple for heroine movies (it's a total sausage fest!) About a decade ago I went to a similar concert in Basingstoke, it had some of the same tracks from the Portsmouth show (Captain America and Lord of the Rings, for example.) As much as I enjoyed the Portsmouth show, I still prefer the Basingstoke one from 10 years ago. It had one additional superhero track with The Incredibles and, on a bias note, it also performed the 2005-07 version of the Doctor Who theme! Overall, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra did a fantastic job playing movie music from legendary heroes, the quality was top-notch! This wasn't the first time I've seen the orchestra, but I will definitely be coming back to see them again for another movie-based concert!
