The Music Of Animation in Concert AUDIO ONLY (26/Sep/25)

Happy World Animation Day!!! As an animation fan this concert was pure bliss! Surprisingly there were only two performances in two different places, and thankfully the second show wasn't far from home (only a half-hour drive.) The setlist pretty much had a bit of everything - Disney, Pixar, DreamWorks, Studio Ghibli and an Aardman encore to close off the wonderful night! I will say that the most surprising film to get featured was Watership Down, nice to have at least one "pure" British animated film. And we were told by the show's host that it is a rarity to hear music from Disney's Cinderella performed live so it was pretty exclusive! My ONE nitpick is that I wish they had a more recent animated film into the setlist since Frozen was the "newest" of the lot (released in 2013.) Which fairly recent film exactly? I'm not sure... Overall, the Studio Concert Orchestra did a fantastic performance showcasing the best of animation from both screen AND sound! It's not often to see concerts dedicated entirely to animation, so it was a privilege to spend the Friday evening celebrating my passion!
