Different tools for different fools: and for once I've actually got the right tools. I now have every entry level weapon and mod for all four of my cyborgs, not maxed out yet, but for the first time this whole campaign, nobody on my squad is walking in empty-handed. Long Range Rifle outranges them before they're even in their own effective zone, and the Minigun trades blow for blow once it gets close. Just to point out a few quirks of this mission to anyone using this as a playthrough guide, these are either bugs or features but you need to watch for them: if the person you persuaded gets killed, you lose the mission even though you already have the information you needed from them. And if you persuade too many people, all of them need to make it to the evac point... which thanks to the pathing just won't happen. Avoid that, ladies and gents. This is the original PC DOS classic, now available via GOG as Syndicate Plus (includes the American Revolt expansion). Syndicate drops you into a cyberpunk world where corporations have replaced governments, and your squad of cybernetically-enhanced agents does whatever it takes - assassination, persuasion, conversion, and when it comes down to it, outright slaughter. This mission is a two-parter: persuade a target, then use what they reveal to track down and assassinate their wife. Sounds simple. It was not simple. Whatever I touched first tended to fall apart in increasingly creative ways before this clean run came together. If eight episodes of bad R&D decisions finally paying off doesn't sound like catharsis to you, I don't know what to tell you. New to the series?
