Entre hilos: Jürgen Habermas, "Historia y crítica de la opinión pública"
Between Threads: Jürgen Habermas, "History and Critique of the Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere" In this new episode of Between Threads, sociologist Daniel Chernilo and lawyer Francisco Castillo discussed Jürgen Habermas's "History and Critique of the Structural Transformation of the Public Sphere." Originally published in 1962, this work is a study of the emergence of a new form of communication and public debate that took place in meeting places such as cafes and taverns. While the topics of this communication were initially linked to the circulation of commercial news, these issues gradually began to include political debate itself. This form of public discussion is the foundation for the development of democratic societies.
