Do You Love Me?
Do You Love Me? | John 21:1–17 In this message, Al explores Jesus’ restoration of Peter after the resurrection. Peter returns to fishing, but Jesus meets him on the shore and calls him into a new and transformed life. Peter’s old life: Jesus asks Peter whether he loves Him more than “these,” calling him to leave behind his old life and follow Him fully. Peter’s failure: Peter had denied Jesus three times, but his failure does not disqualify him from Jesus’ grace or from serving His people. Peter’s calling: Jesus calls Peter to feed His sheep, showing that leadership in God’s church begins with loving Jesus and loving His people. This passage reminds us that following Jesus means more than being Christian in name only; it means receiving His grace, leaving behind our old life, and serving His people in love.
