Jesus Arrested | John 18:1–14 In this message, Josh opens John 18 and explores the moment Jesus is betrayed and arrested. Though everything seems to fall apart, John shows that Jesus is not surprised, powerless, or out of control. Judas: Judas warns us that it is possible to be close to Jesus’ people and involved in Christian things, while still being far from Jesus in our hearts. Jesus: Jesus knows what is happening, chooses the path ahead, holds all power, and steps forward in love to protect His people. Peter: Peter tries to take control in his own strength, but Jesus shows that His mission is to drink the cup the Father has given Him. This passage reminds us that Jesus willingly steps forward to take our place, bearing our sin so that we can go free.
