I Didn’t Expect This In Laos 🇱🇦 (First Time In Luang Prabang)

This is my first time in Luang Prabang, Laos — and it did NOT start the way I expected. From a surprisingly chaotic train ride on the Laos-China railway to getting a first look at everyday life in Laos, this video captures my first 24 hours in Luang Prabang. After arriving from Vang Vieng, I take the train, talk with a local driver on the way into the city, explore the night market, try traditional Lao food, and stay at a luxury resort on the Mekong River that costed us just $41 with breakfast. Luang Prabang is one of the most beautiful and culturally rich cities in Southeast Asia, but there’s a lot more to it than temples and sunsets — especially when you’re seeing it for the first time. 👉 I’ll be sharing more Laos videos soon, including a full Luang Prabang city guide and a separate video about the China to Laos train journey, so make sure you’re subscribed:    / @davidgtravels   📌 WATCH NEXT 🌎The best budget destinations 2026 →    • 10 Surprisingly Affordable Countries To Vi...   🌏The cheapest cities for 2026 →    • The 10 Best CHEAP Cities In 2026 ($20 A Day)   🚀 Check out all the videos from my current round-the-world trip here →    • First Round-The-World Trip   🌍Videos about other great places to visit:    • Places To Visit   🥗Videos about traveling for the world's best food:    • Travel For Food 🌮   💸 More travel tips and hacks to save money →    • Travel Insight 💡   🌎 More travel videos from around the world →    • Travel Inspiration 🚀   00:00 First time in Luang Prabang 00:24 Getting to Luang Prabang on the high-speed train 01:39 Long drive to the city (local insight) 07:23 Crazy cheap luxury resort (On The Mekong) 14:59 Tuktuk ride to the old town 17:03 Luang Prabang Night Market 18:20 Local Lao dinner 21:43 Morning on the Mekong River and breakfast 24:02 Tour of local businesses
