Trains of Lansing MI - March 1991

1. A ghostly CSX eastbound passes Clara's restaurant in the former Lansing station at Michigan ave with a Jordan spreader on the rear. 2. A GTW westbound at the East Lansing Amtrak station. 3. Conrail local YDLA3 heads past the vintage wig-wag crossing signal on Isbell st. This is the remnant of the LS&MS line to Albion. 4. YDLA3 crosses the parking lot at Hazen Lumber after pulling a couple newsprint cars from the State Journal warehouse on Logan st. Then the crew reassembles the train and heads back north. 5. YDLA3 northbound at the Cedar st overpass. 6. An eastbound CP runthrough train on the CSX at Farm Lane in East Lansing. The second engine is SOO 6450 a unique SD40 rebuilt without a cab after a wreck. Meeting the CP train is a westbound CSX freight. 7. A Family Lines SD40-2 pulls an eastbound CSX autorack train at Harrison rd. 8. CSX local D709 eastbound at Mt Hope rd in East Lansing. 9. A CSX light engine movement westbound at the Trowbridge diamond. 10 A GTW eastbound freight at Trowbridge. 11. VIA equipment on Amtrak 365 at Trowbridge. 12. A GTW eastbound at the Amtrak station with double stacks & a caboose. 13. A westbound GTW train at the Amtrak station. The power consist includes a pair of new KCS engines being delivered from EMD in London ON. 14. The same GT westbound at Millet hwy. 15. More KCS deliveries on another day. Westbound at Mt Hope hwy. 16. A late running Conrail LAEL southbound at Michigan ave.
