CAJUZINHO DOS ANOS 60: a receita ORIGINAL, sem leite condensado!
🥜 Today we're going back in time to discover how cajuzinho was made before condensed milk dominated Brazilian confectionery. This recipe comes from a newspaper clipping, probably from the 1960s or 70s, and shows a very different version from what we know today. No condensed milk! Cajuzinho was made only with peanuts, grated coconut, sugar, and eggs. A more rustic recipe, less sweet and full of personality! But what caught our attention the most was the measurement used: ON PLATES! Back then, scales and measuring cups were rare. Each family used the utensils they had at home, and each recipe carried a bit of the identity of the person who prepared it. Today we recreate this recipe exactly as it was published to find out: can the old cajuzinho still compete with the modern one? Do you prefer cajuzinho with condensed milk or would you like to try this original version? — 🥜 INGREDIENTS: 1 plate of ground peanuts (± 1 ½ cups / 180–200 g) 1 plate of grated coconut (1 ½ cups (120–140 g of dried coconut)) 1 plate of sugar (± 1 ½ cups / 270–300 g) 2 whole eggs (or just the yolks, for a firmer texture) Crystal sugar for coating (as desired) Paper cupcake liners #4 (standard for small sweets) PREPARATION METHOD: Mix everything and cook over low heat until you can see the bottom of the pan. The next day, make the small peanut candies and put a piece of peanut in each one. Then coat them in crystal sugar and place them in paper cupcake liners. — 🔔 Subscribe to the channel to follow the Old Notebook Recipes series and discover stories that have survived the test of time.
