Written in sonata-allegro form, it features a relentless, scampering string motif, syncopated rhythms, and bright brass fanfares that perfectly capture the bustling, celebratory, and mischievous spirit of Bohemian village life. The piece concludes with a breathless, rapid-fire contrapuntal section where multiple melodic lines weave together, ending on a resounding, joyful major chord that brings the house down.
