American Learns What the West Gets Wrong About Hinduism | Neo Dharmism Reaction

In this video, I’m reacting to Neo Dharmism’s discussion of what the West often gets wrong about Hinduism. As an American and an atheist, I’m approaching this with curiosity, respect, and a genuine desire to understand more clearly. I claim no expertise and am not looking to convince anyone of anything. I'm here to listen, react, and hopefully keep learning. Over time, Indian films, music, and conversations with friends, colleagues, and viewers have made me increasingly interested in Hinduism / Sanatan Dharma. I know there are still plenty of things I may have absorbed through a Western lens that are incomplete, oversimplified, or just wrong, and that's part of why I wanted to watch this. This video explores some major misconceptions about Hinduism, including the idea that it is simply mythology, polytheism, or a tradition without deep philosophical structure. I found the conversation fascinating, especially around Hinduism’s views on God, consciousness, reality, and the depth of the tradition. As always, respectful corrections and additional context are welcome in the comments. I genuinely appreciate learning from people who know this subject more deeply than I do. Peace out.
