Bibbulmum Track - day 03

Cold night at Waalegh shelter, left with a reasonably dry tent quite early through the mist. Easy going trail to Beraking where we took our first break, beautiful and damp green tunnel with some spectacular views, and not much in the way of declination or inclination. After a lunch break we had an easy hike at first, but then the long and slow climb to Mt. Dale, some occasional streep sections. We saw a wallaby I think, at a distance of 20m or so, and a couple of roos near the summit. Also a couple of the large birds which look like currawongs. Just as we started the descent on the other side, we saw perhaps a couple dozen red tailed black cockatoos, which was awesome. A fast and easy 3km to the campsite from there, which is beautiful. Hiking takes you away from all the screens, email, social media etc. so you are forced to use your own mind and imagination again, which you can take down a spiritual route as you feel the life energy all around, realising you're part of it, and feeling that energy move around and through you. Let your mind drift, let go of your inner dialog, it's peak meditation practice.
