Day 2 in Dhenkanal with Our Bangalore Buddies | Kapilas, Saptasajya, Dokra Art Village & Odia Food

Some trips are about visiting places. Some trips are about making memories. And some trips become special because of the people you experience them with. Welcome to ICYE Odisha Day 2! Today was all about introducing our friends from Bangalore to the real essence of Dhenkanal and Odisha. From the moment we started driving through the beautiful curve roads of Kapilas, we knew this was going to be a memorable day. Our journey took us to some of the most beautiful and culturally significant places of Dhenkanal. 📍 Kapilas Temple – A peaceful spiritual destination surrounded by lush green hills and beautiful roads. 📍 Saptasajya – One of Odisha's most serene and scenic places, filled with nature, stories, and breathtaking views. 📍 Dokra Art Village – Home to the famous Dokra artisans who keep Odisha's traditional metal craft alive through generations of hard work and creativity. But this journey wasn't only about sightseeing. It was about conversations during long drives. It was about sharing stories. It was about understanding each other's cultures. It was about seeing Odisha through the eyes of first-time visitors. And of course, no Odisha experience is complete without food! We enjoyed some amazing local Odia delicacies and shared meals that brought everyone even closer together. Sometimes, the best conversations happen around food, and today was proof of that. The most beautiful part of ICYE is that people arrive as strangers and slowly become friends. Different cities, different languages, different backgrounds—but somehow, the same excitement, the same laughter, and the same feeling of togetherness. As members of the Rotaract Club of Dhenkanal, it was an honour to host our friends from Bangalore and introduce them to our culture, traditions, heritage, food, and people. Because Odisha isn't just about famous places. Odisha is about experiences. Odisha is about simplicity. Odisha is about hospitality. And most importantly, Odisha is about people.
