40 Size Balsa USA Smoothie Maiden Flight

Finally on Sunday Sept. 6, 2020 I was able to get the "Maiden Flight" I. for my "Balsa USA 40 size Smoothie. The weather was spectacular. 76 degrees, 3 mph south wind, and partly cloudy. We had several issues tuning the OS 55ax, but after we ironed those out the Smoothie flew like a Rocket with Wings! The OS 55ax provided more power and torque than I had expected. During take-off the Smoothie required almost Full right Rudder to keep it straight. Once in the air the Smoothie flys Awesome! Just a few clicks of Down elevator and She was ON! I would like toggle a Big Thank you to Tom Erb, for tuning and trimming my Airplane. He is a Master at tuning Glow Engines and a Tremendous Pilot! Please forgive my poor abilities as a videographer. It was my first attempt at filming RC Airplanes. As is evident, I need Lots and lots of practice. Enjoy, Perry
