Sadwrn Barlys/Barley Saturday 2026. I have chapterised the vlog see description

Sadwrn Barlys (Barley Saturday) is a historic agricultural festival held annually on the last Saturday of April in Cardigan (Aberteifi), West Wales. It is one of the town's most significant traditional events, dating back to the late 19th century. The event originated in the 1870s (records suggest 1871 or 1877) as a half-yearly hiring fair where farmers came to town to hire staff and inspect stallions put out to stud. It marked the end of the spring sowing season—barley being the last cereal sown after wheat and oats. "Barley Saturday" comes from this agricultural deadline, signifying the completion of the sowing, allowing farming families to enjoy a day in town. Traditionally, stallions were shown at Pensarnau Pool (now Victoria Gardens) before parading through the town streets. The event was paused during the World Wars and re-established in 1961 The charters are as follows:- 0.00-16.57 INTRODUCTION AND PRE EVENT FOOTAGE 16.58-23.52 MAIN PARADE HORSES AND PONIES 22.53-35.23 MAIN PARADE TRACTORS AND VINTAGE VEHICLES 35.24-38.36 WALK DOWN TO TOWN DURING PARADE 38.37-44.22 WALK FROM TOWN TO HOME AFTER PARADE INCLUDES VEHICLES 44.23-48.37 PHOTOGRAPHS Sorry for the length but filming was over 3 hours in total.
