Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railway - May Day Weekend

Darjeeling & Himalayan Railway 19B was the star guest of the Ffestiniog's Spring season. During the May bank holiday gala weekend she was the star of the weekend operating a variety of services paired with the lines Victorian set, and on Sunday morning a corridor rake. I attended on the Saturday and Sunday, and joining 19B wereere Palmerston and Britomart (operating Blaenau Ffestiniog - Tanygrisau shuttles on Saturday and Porthmadog - Minffordd shuttles on Sunday). Double Fairie David Lloyd George was operating all weekend, with Earl of Meirioneth out on Saturday. Lynton & Barnstaple replica Lyd was out on Sunday; while Prince and Hugh Napier operated footplate rides at Blaenau Ffestiniog. Blanche (which bowed out of traffic on Sunday) and Linda completed the line up, and they had the honours of hauling the new rake of carriages (including observation saloon 150) on there official launch train, a Society AGM special on the Saturday. www.preservedrailway.co.uk (C) Lee Andrew Davies 2016
