Restoration of a Late-40's/Early 50's Jackson-Guldan Guitar Amp

In this video, a badly neglected Jackson-Guldan amp from the late 40's or early 50's is restored to good cosmetic and functional condition. Techniques demonstrated include Internet research; creation of a schematic when none is available; determination of the correct parameters for output transformer winding ratio, speaker impedance, and output tube plate resistance; modification of a circuit to suit modern guitar pickups; initial evaluation of a newly acquired vintage amp; and cabinet and chassis restoration. The entire restoration process is explained in detail, and an audio test is provided at the conclusion. NEWSFLASH: It also appears that the amp is virtually identical to the Silvertone 1301 and bears remarkable similarities to a 1946 Dickerson circuit. More info will be added as new revelations occur :) If you enjoy videos like this, featuring vintage tube amplifiers, jukeboxes, and bizarre electro-mechanical devices, then by all means subscribe to this channel and gain immediate access to over 125 similar videos.
