Slip Joint Build Along – Lanny Pattern | Episode 3

In this episode of the Lanny slip joint build series, the knife moves into the final stages. I relieve the liner for the ricasso, flame temper the backspring, and tune the spring tension before moving into final assembly. Once the knife is pinned together, the pins are ground flush, the covers are hand sanded, and the blade is sharpened. This series follows the complete process of building two traditional Lanny pattern slip joint knives from start to finish. One knife features linen micarta covers with red G10 spacer liners, while the second will be finished with ironwood scales and dovetailed brass bolsters.
