Clutch and Oil Pump Disassembly: Honda CB350 / CL350 Engine Teardown Part 2

Read the full disassembly article right here: https://support.common-motor.com/hc/e... Welcome to the first half of our vintage Honda CB350 engine rebuild series! This video series is not intended as a step-by-step instructional, but instead, something we hope will work in conjunction with the Honda service manual to aid in rebuilding your engine at home.  CB350 / CL350 / SL350 Factory Service Manuals: https://support.common-motor.com/hc/e... In this stage of the teardown, we focus on the right side of the engine in preparation for the top-end removal. Begin by removing the kickstarter arm (which may be stubborn), then unscrew the right-side cover to expose components like the oil pump, centrifugal oil filter, clutch basket, shift shaft, oil pickup screen, and the crankshaft-to-clutch basket drive gears. The most challenging part here is removing the oil filter nut, which requires our #9005 Oil Filter Nut Tool. After removing the oil filter cover and nut, clean any debris and break the nut free. Remove the clutch springs and cover before taking out the clutch friction discs and steel plates. Remove the snap ring, then move on to remove the oil pump and clutch basket as a single unit. Lastly, clean off the shift shaft before sliding it out. Once the shift shaft is removed, you're ready for the next steps in the bottom-end disassembly.
