From Jodie Brooke “Brooke” Anderson, an 18-year-old mother whose disappearance story began unraveling almost immediately, to Adele Marie Easterly, a 25-year-old convenience-store manager murdered by the deputy who claimed to have found her… these cases are heartbreaking, disturbing, and unforgettable. 🔎 Featured Cases: 🕵 Jodie Brooke Anderson — Nashville, Tennessee Jodie Brooke Anderson, who went by Brooke, was 18 years old and the mother of a one-year-old son when she disappeared in June 2017. Brooke’s mother, Shannon Anderson, claimed Brooke vanished from a Jack in the Box on West Trinity Lane after Shannon briefly stepped into the restroom. But investigators soon discovered that story could not be true. Brooke was still in jail on the date her mother claimed she disappeared, and she sent her final known Facebook message several days later. Brooke had no vehicle, little money, and had been living a transient lifestyle with her mother in North Nashville. She stopped communicating with family, missed her son’s birthday, and failed to appear for a court hearing. Shannon later refused to assist in searches for her daughter. In May 2026, Shannon was arrested after investigators alleged she had continued listing Brooke as a dependent and collected more than $5,000 in food-assistance benefits in her missing daughter’s name. The arrest brought renewed attention to Brooke’s case, but it did not reveal what happened to her. As of July 2026, Brooke remains missing, and her case remains unsolved. 🕵 Adele Marie Easterly — Punta Gorda, Florida At approximately 1:40 a.m. on November 5, 1979, Charlotte County Sheriff’s Deputy John Greer radioed dispatch to report that he had found 25-year-old Adele Marie Easterly shot to death inside the isolated Farm Store where she worked. Adele had been killed by two close-range shotgun blasts. Only $7.34 was missing from the register, and there were no signs of forced entry, a struggle, or shell casings at the scene. Greer had secretly been dating Adele while married and regularly visited her overnight shift carrying his personal double-barreled 12-gauge shotgun. After Adele discovered he was married and tried to end the relationship, she told a friend she was terrified of him. Deputies suspected Greer from the beginning, but the case went cold. Decades later, a former Sheriff’s Office Explorer told investigators that Greer had sexually assaulted and threatened her. She also recalled seeing him return to the Sheriff’s Office on the night of Adele’s murder carrying a long gun, appearing disheveled, with what looked like blood on his hand. In April 2023, detectives confronted Greer at a Tennessee care facility. He confessed to killing both Adele and his wife, Jackie Greer. He died in March 2024 without ever being charged.
